Friends of Scotsdale Farm is a federally incorporated non-soliciting Not-for-profit
founded in 2014, located on the Niagara Escarpment,Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada.
Our Mandate is a simple one......to " Help Protect and Steward Scotsdale Farm"
with the support of Ontario Heritage Trust, and the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
We are very proud of what we do, and what has been accomplished thus far.
We will use this page to keep the public up to date with what is going on at Scotsdale Farm,
along with providing everyone with important information.
Over the years, the farm has been a popular spot for film shoots,
which have included:
The Recruit, Fahrenheit 451, Taken,
Reign and more recently,
Mrs. America, A Handmaid's Tale,
Forgive Us Our Trespasses,
Beacon Street, The Accused,
Rabbit Hole, and many other
smaller productions.
Please follow us on Facebook to get regular updates of farm and film activity.
Parking on the 8th line side would also be a good way to access the property when Hollywood is on site!
IMPORTANT NEWS
Beginning next week, July 11th a production crew will be on site prepping the property for another film production. Filming will begin on the following weekend, and continue off and on until late July.
Parking will be very limited with no access around the buildings and barns.
Please plan your visits accordingly!
Parking at the 8th line access highly recommended! The parking area in the upper field will also be available.
Professional photographers, wedding / engagement functions must be registered: Contact (scotsdalefarm.com)
Last week we had 2244 website visitors, and 6005 social views!
Scotsdale Farm is a beautiful, calming place to visit, so making it accessible to the public is very important to us!
Open public areas continue to be an important part of our daily / weekly mantra ........a wonderful way to de-stress ourselves, and our families.
The hiking trails managed by the Bruce Trail Conservancy are all in great shape.
The CVC and BTC also have a
"pets on leash" policy to be observed.
Recently we have had a couple of
owners lose their pets.
Coyotes, coywolves and foxes are all active residents too!
Please be aware while on the trails, and in the fields there are lots of insects to deal with, so bug spray would be a good idea.
Also, dog owners, please check your dog for ticks, and yourselves for that matter too. It sounds like some areas have
lots of them!

Things have been busy around the farm this summer / fall, as various projects wind down. The barns have now been completely rewired, along with some updated plumbing.
The chimneys, and stone work at the Bennett House, cottage and garage have also been restored and repointed......good for another 100 plus years!
Another section of the stone wall at the south side of the Bennett house has been completed, and a new roof is being planned for the house too.
It appears we have a beaver colony setting up a lodge at the pond which will be a first for Scotsdale.
As beavers tend to be nocturnal, a sharp eye early morning before sunrise....you may catch one in action!
Please remember:
Groups using buses, and oversize vehicles must register them through our contact form. It is important to observe the
Idling Control By-law # 2005-0083
as well!
Parking is only permitted in the designated parking areas.
There is also parking at
the 8th Line entrance.
A great spot to use when the film folks are on site!
